While one of the contestant of the “Willie of Fortune” segment of the show was dancing, the ABS-CBN management decided to simultaneously show the live coverage of the cortege and the Wowowee.

Wille Revillame, who was upset on what had been shown, asked the ABS-CBN management live through his show to stripped off the live coverage of the cortege because according to him, “…nagsasaya kami dito… I don’t think na dapat ipakita yan…”

Although the avid fans of the Wowowee did not consider it a disrespect to the former president because they knew what Willie really meant, but the professional enemies of him found it a disrespect.

Mr. Roel C. Saguisag who initiated the online petition to ban Willie Revillame from television that was addressed to the ABS-CBN, MTRC and PANA said through the petition, “Some may argue that Willie’s intention was good, but I rather find [his] statements rude and arrogant… and disrespectful to former President Aquino.”

The MTRC along with the NPC and the AFIMA are working for the sanctioned for the violation on the broadcast code of ethics.

The Aquino family on the other hand, accepted the apology of Willie Revillame and understood that Willie’s intent was not to disrespect them and their late mother but to show respect, and that the only problem was the way he said it.

Currently, Willie Revillame is on indefinite leave from the show.

My Thoughts:

The body of the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino has been laid to its final destination. Thousands of Filipino mourned for the former president.

Since the early morning of this day, television networks aired the live coverage of the activity related to the burial. From the Catholic Cathedral to the procession and to the burial.

I’m sorry to tell you that I was not one of the Filipinos who mourns for the president. It’s not because I hate her. It’s not because that I don’t have the heart for her. But it’s because of my belief that all men will die in their own time and I don’t consider the mourning for them as the best thing to do for them.

Well, I know it’s hard for us if one of our loveones dies. And with the death of the former president, it seems that we lost someone who is important to us. And I also understand that it’s our own social obligation to support those who are left behind by someone who died.

However, I just couldn’t stay longer in front of the TV watching the live coverage of the burial ceremony for the late former president Corazon Aquino.

I know, some of you who read this journal will be embarrassed about the feeling that I had for the burial ceremony. I’m sorry but it’s just me.
